Zoology just got so interesting!!!!

I finally brought home my first ever frog.  Well, dead and submurged in smelly formalin, that is.  But still SO COOL!!!!! :)

I named her FRANKIE! I thought of that name coz when I saw her, the first thing that came into my mind was frankenstein.  So, in short, I called her Frankie.
She's not really that pretty anymore coz her lungs just oozed out of her glottis and are now exposed for everyone to see.  That's because, all the dead frogs were stored in a crowded container.  So with all the squishing they've been through, their guts just had to come out! 

Now, if that grossed you out already, you should hear what  Sir Vasquez told us to do when that thing happens.  He said we should take the end of the scalpel and push the guts right back where they came from.  If they still didn't go back, then we have no choice but to do it with our fingers! @_@ HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

I'm excited about tomorrow since we'll be opening up Frankie already! Well, it's sad but.....It's all for the love of Science!

Our first day was supposed to be June 13 but then news came out that there won't be any regular classes during that day. Just a mass and that's it.  It's good coz it gave me a little more time to accept the fact that I'm going to school without any familiar face in mind and f course, my worst fear -- being alone-- realized.

So, today came and guess what??? I almost got late for class! Thank God professors are not that punctual! When I went inside the classroom, the chairs were all filled up already and I didn't know where to sit! Not to mention all the eyes staring at me as I try to keep my composure and stay calm.  Fortunately, there was this gentleman who offered me his seat (It was just too bad coz he's not cute at all!).  I said thank you but I think he didn't hear me coz he didn't look at me. Whatever.

Contrary to popular belief, my blockmates were really nice! They made an effort to know me like ask my name and engage in small talk.  But the sad thing was just that I still miss the BFAST CLUB... The new people I met sure took away my fear of being alone but the feeling of home and love? They can't obviously compare to that!  Another sad thing was that nobody really knew what ICA or where ICA is!!! Around 5 people out of 40 knew what the hell ICA is.  *sigh* It was just sad.

I was amazed at how diverse college is.  I met people from different walks of life.  Some were from Laguna, Lipa and Paranaque.  Most of the people I met were from St. Jude.  I met one from Assumption.  But they were really nice.  

Another bad news was that there was no hot, cute guy present! NOT EVEN ONE!!!!!! Well, at least I get to concentrate more on my studies.  Speaking of studies, we actually have an assignment in Chem already!  It's really not that hard coz it's more like: "How is Chemistry related to Medical Technology?" and "Can you live without Chemistry?".  The stuff we usually write about in our SLL's and portfolios.

Busy.Busy.Busy.

For the past 3 days, I have been carrying boxes, plastic bags and furniture.  *sigh* The trouble of moving houses... But the house is great! It's actually near what I want my dream house to look like.  It's just that, there's still a lot of junk and clutter everywhere so i can't really see how nice it is as a whole.  It was kinda fun sorting out things and fixing stuff coz there were a number of  things I found which reminded me of my childhood days...

Haaayyy...Those were the days...

Being a kid was so simple.  Nothing to worry about.  Barbie dolls and Chupa Chups solve everything!  Well I guess this is growing up...

I was Nicole Ricci and Paris Hilton for a day.

Yesterday, we were in Pampanga.  One of my dad's friends invited us over for lunch at their lot coz we weren't doing anything at home anyways.  Well, the trip was a bit bumpy (kinda expected that, though) since they didn't really have roads constructed there.  After maybe an hour and a half, we reached their place.  There was so much food and eating lunch under the trees was interesting.  But of course, my fear of insects was realized! 

After the food feast we had, Mark and I went to wash our hands and there wasn't any faucet.  We had to igib for water (from the deep well) adn the weirdest thing happened...

Freaky Girl: Magkapatid ba kayo?
Mark and I: Mm-Hmm.
Freaky Girl: Ah talaga? Akala ko kasi magshota kayo! (OMG!!!!!!!! Made me sick the whole day!)
Mark and I: Haha. *laughing forcibly and trying not to attack Freaky Girl*

Mark and I: Haha. *another one of those laughs*

After that not-so-pleasurable encounter, we went up the hill and sat on a hammock under the mango trees.  So relaxing.... But not for long...
We then walked along the hill and picked the ripe mangoes.  It was quite an experience since this was the first time I did that.  It was so hot, though and I could just imagine how hard life was for them.  Staying under the sun for hours just to pick fruits coz that's there only source of livelihood! I was just there for around 15 minutes and it was already HELL for me! 

We were supposed to go fishing, too, but we already had to go home coz it was getting a bit late.  Would have been so much fun, though!
 

I find it so hard to believe that after 3 months, I'll be in a white blouse and skirt uniform entering a room with NO familiar face.  But I guess this is it.  There's no turning back now.

I went to confirm my slot in UST this morning.  And no matter how early we got there, tons of people were still ahead of us.  We arrived at 8 in the morning.  Guess what time I finished??? 12 NOON! That's 4 frickin' hours!  It would probably be a lot bearable if there were seats throughout the process or if there were aircons in every room. BUT NO!  I had to stand in line for 4 hours and wait for the people to call me in.  Four hours in line and just 15 minutes to present all your requirements!  I really couldn't understand why it took so long for them to let us in.  *sigh*  Right now, I'm just glad it's over! Due to that exhausting morning, I treated myself to a Jollibee Bonanza! Hahaha! I was so hungry I ate 2 pieces of chicken. I've been craving it the whole week! Yum!

It's Chinky's birthday today (another girl turned 18!). I miss that girl so much! I made her fettucine carbonara since it's her favorite.  I haven't talked to her for quite some time already.  There was actually a point when I felt like we were drifting apart.  We also had a few awkward moments when it seems like we don't have anything in common anymore.  But I really want to bring back our friendship, just like before.  Chinky has been one of my closest friends and I'm not gonna throw that away.  Miss you so much, Chinks! 

Card Day is actually the LAST school event we're ever gonna have in ICA.  Some may find this ridiculous but I think I would really miss getting the butterflies and worrying about report card once I enter college.  The numbers I'll see in my card next schoolyear will be different.  They wouldn't be from the range of 65-99 instead they'd just be from the range of 1-5.  Not to mention the conduct grade and worrying whether or not I would get my exemptions.  Coz in college, no one's getting exempted anymore! I wouldn't have to aim for that 93 and wait for the list of exemptions to be posted on the High School Office bulletin board.  Well, I really think going to college is gonna need A LOT of adjusting.

Seeing my grades, I didn't really see anything that would surprise me.  I think this time around, I actually think all the grades I got were the ones that I truly deserve.

FILIPINO 96 --> I kinda expected and wanted my Filipino grade to go up coz I really think that my scores this quarter were worthy of this grade.  It actually reminded me of my talumpati.  I was actually surprised to have aced that considering I missed around 3 lines of my speech and my mom thinks I spoke too fast that she couldn't even understand what I was saying.

ENGLISH 90 --> I never really was a fan of English, not to mention, Odysseus' journeys.  I admit that The Odyssey was kinda nice and really fun to read, it's actually the comprehension that I hate.  And of course, the English classes that really made me sleepy most of the time (Nah...ALWAYS!!!!!).  Ange was the one who kept me awake and this line of hers is the one I would never forget:

My grade dropped a point probably because of the PT. You all know how an English PT goes.  You think you've got the right answer, but surprise, you're answer's actually SO WRONG! Not that I want my English tests in college that hard but I sure will miss that.

MATH 97 --> I really thank Ms. Lose-My-Breath for the grade she gave me. Finally! She saw all my hardwork! As far as I can remember, this is the highest Math grade I have ever received. It's a miracle I got it on her class.  Others may think she's a B****, but outside class, she's really fun to talk to.  She would even make harsh hirits when she feels like it.

SCIENCE 96 --> At first, I really sucked at Physics.  I managed to fail 2 quizzes and not even get a single 10 during the first quarter.  Most people would ask me why I even go to tutor when my grades are fine? But believe me, I almost thought I wouldn't get a 90 in the first quarter. I was hanging by a thread! After some time, I got used to the fact that I have a tutor and that thought actually gave me the confidence.  In the end, I realized I didn't go to a tutor because I didn't get the lesson.  I needed a tutor to boost the confidence in me.   And I really thank Ms. Joyce for being there for me always, being patient and always believed in me. I never really got the chance to thank her personally but one of these days, I would probably drop by the tutorial center.

AP 96 --> Fourth Quarter was HELL for me in AP! I didn't know what it was that pulled my grade down.  Were the lessonns really hard? Or was I just getting all senioritis that I lost my focus? Well, whatever that was, it really did something to my grades.

CLE 96 --> I still can't understand why the school considers RELIGION a subject where grades matter.  I just thought that in the end, whatever grade you get in CLE won't say anything about how you really feel about God.  Grading mass attendance? Forcing you to go to mass? These things they do are actually the ones that bring me further away from my faith!  Faith is not about how many masses you attend, it's about putting your heart into even just ONE mass your whole life, but truly feeling what it's like to be with God. I feel much better! Just had to let that out...

CHINESE 98 --> It's a good thing I trusted my instincts and did not take the PT coz I was able to get the grade I hoped for even without taking the test.  I just wish for myself to never forget Chinese coz I love the language and it's really a big loss for me if I just put it all away after 13 years of dealing with it.

I was just wondering why I only have a 0.5 recorded on my Days Absent row.  I'm pretty sure I should have more than that.  But, whatever, not complaining. :D

This morning was actually the LAST bfast day for the BFAST CLUB! Well, I'm really gonna miss being late for Ms. Militante's morning exercise.  I'm not really a fond of getting late but, I eventually got used to it and of course, the Bfast Club knows very well that when I start to get quiet, it's time to leave Jollibee! :) But I'm proud to say, I didn't do that this morning!Hehe! I'm gonna miss that SOOOOOOOOOOO much!
